General Questions
How do we worship at Holy Trinity?
We believe true, heart-felt, liturgical worship should lead to an encounter with God. Worship is not a consumer event, but something for everybody in the community to participate in.
How often do we have Communion?
We offer communion every week.
Who is welcome to participate?
All who are baptized Christians who believe Jesus is really present in the bread and wine are welcome to participate – regardless of whether you are a member or regular attender of Holy Trinity. Children who have not yet received communion instruction may come forward for a blessing.
How should I dress?
Holy Trinity has always been a “come as you are” church. Jeans or ties are equally welcome.
What’s available for my kids?
We love kids here at Holy Trinity. We have an abundance of Children’s programs running throughout the year designed just for them. Kids in Children’s Ministry programs learn about God’s love for them every week in a vibrant way.
What if my kids get noisy during the service?
Children are always welcome in the Sanctuary. Should children become restless or noisy, we have a Nursery available. It is equipped with sound so that parents and children can continue to enjoy the worship experience.
What’s available for my teenager?
We offer several exciting opportunities for students to engage with one another and with God. Confirmation and Youth Bible Study meet every Sunday morning. Teens sing and ring in the choirs and participate fully in the total life of the congregation.
What if I’d like to pray with someone?
There’s ministry time offered during each of the weekend services with one of the pastors or with a member of our prayer team. They are also available to pray with you before and after every service in the Chapel. Look for anyone wearing a Prayer Ministry badge.
What about tithes & offerings?
Offerings are given as an act of worship by attendees who consider Holy Trinity their home. For visitors, we want you to be blessed by the worship and to give as God inspires you.
Where are you located?
Holy Trinity is located at the corner of Parkview Avenue and Lycoming Avenue in Abington, PA. Our address is: 2086 Parkview Avenue, Abington, PA 19001.
How Do I…
What do I do when I have a great idea for Holy Trinity?
Holy Trinity invites all members to step forward and offer your ideas! Council invites everyone who feels excited by a new concept for this congregation, passionate about a cause, and/or called by God to serve in a particular way to step forward and offer your thoughts. In other words, Council wishes to empower each person who has a vision first to share ideas and then be willing to commit to introducing and shepherding a project or program.
When you have an idea you would like to explore for Holy Trinity, determine which of the Standing Committees might be best suited to consider and back your plan. That also means which committee is most likely to give you any needed funding to make your idea a reality. Contact the chair and ask to present at a committee meeting. As the committee endorses ideas, the liaison person will take them to Council for approval. You can then seek volunteers who share your enthusiasm and are willing project workers. Then voila, you are launched. Some examples of recent ideas that have either been accomplished or are currently being researched are: church magnets, church welcome bags of goodies for new members and visitors, name tags for all members, and streaming our services online.
Committees include: Audit, Christian Education, Evangelism, Executive, Finance, Investment, Membership, Nominating, Program/Outreach Fund, Property, Social Ministry, Staff Support, Stewardship, Worship & Music.
